Boards and Commissions: The Council will elect a new member of the Library Board.
Parking: There’s a request to add resident-only parking along part of Ingleside Avenue. This will go to the Parking Committee for discussion.
Lifeguards: We have had a lifeguard shortage in recent years, anecdotally because of bad management. Councilor Haxhiaj wants a report from the Manager about the shortage and what we’re doing to fix it.
Stop Off-Roading in Hadwen Park: Councilor Haxhiaj would like a sign in the park saying “No Dirt Bikes or Motorcycles Allowed.”
Remembering What a Jerk Asa Butman Was: Councilor Bergman would like us to do something to remember the 170th anniversary of the time a slave-catcher came to Worcester (described in the press as a “notorious kidnapper”) only to be attacked and nearly lynched by Worcesterites.
Security at City Hall: Councilor Bergman would like the Manager to “review best practices regarding security at City Hall.”
Miscellaneous Veterans’ Memorial: Councilor Bergman would like a monument to Worcester veterans who died in action but for whom there is not currently an appropriate monument.
Rats: Councilor Colorio is the latest councilor to ask the Manager for a new plan for dealing with rats, specifically to “eradicate rats in the city.”
